Title: Education of Power Electronics and Electrical Machines
Organized by: Kazuhiro Umetani, José Alfonso Antonino-Daviu, Óscar Lucía, Larisa Dunai
Theme: The population of engineers in the field of power electronics, electric machines, and their drives is growing as the application of these technologies is spreading in modern society. Accordingly, education in these technologies is confronting challenges to transfer their profound technical know-how to an increasing number of students and engineers in these fields of technology. Propelled by this social background, the new educational methodologies, some of them involving advanced ICTs, take increasingly crucial roles. These methodologies have exhibited their remarkable possibilities for enhancing the students’ interest in these technologies as well as the efficient transfer of technological knowledge and experience, although further improvement can still be expected considering the recent widespread and progress of the ICT tools. The aim of this special session is to attract papers describing these new educational methodologies and sharing the teaching experiences regarding power electronics and electric machines including their applications. The applications may include theoretical lectures, laboratory sessions, student assessment, or other aspects related to educational tasks in the referred area

Special Sessions: CALL FOR Proposals
Special Sessions (SSs) provide the opportunity to focus on emerging topics, which are not reflected in the list of conference main technical tracks or represent a specific working field. SSs focused on reporting innovations and breakthroughs in highly specialized topic areas (within the conference’s scope) will be organized. Professionals in the areas of education are invited to propose SSs to be held at ICELIE 2025.
Conference Registration: At least one organizer of the SS is expected to register for and attend the conference, as well as chair the corresponding session(s).
Conflict of Interest: Before starting the review process, SS organizers must explicitly declare papers which present a conflict of interest for them. A conflict of interest arises where the judgement of a paper quality can be influenced by the organizers being authors or knowing some of the authors. To ensure independent reviews, this conflict must be marked as such in the submission system and the SS Co-Chairs must be notified so that they can arrange the review process.
